Alexa Internet ranks Baidu as the 4^th most popular website globally. Baidu controls a market share of 56.6% in China and is is it first Chinese firm to be listed on NASDAQ-100index. The company was founded by Robin Li and Eric Xu in 2000 before they floated some of their shares to American investors making it a Chinese-American company. It faces competition from Yahoo, Bing, and Sogou.
