In the majestic Topatopa mountains is the charming summertime town of Ojai, in the iconic state of California, known for its vast numbers of tourists who flock to the state every year, especially in the summertime. Originally inhabited by the indigenous Chumash peoples, who numbered in the 10s of thousands in over 150 independent villages meanwhile speaking varieties of the same language, these important peoples who lived and still do live in this region created the name Ojai, pronounced Awhay, meaning Moon. Unfortunately, Spanish troops forcibly relocated indigenous peoples from their historical home villages to Spanish missions to be Christianized, which eventually led to 90% of the Chumash population dying or being murdered whether by Spanish rule or the California Genocide under u.s occupation. Despite Ojai being extremely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing with great weather, Ojai has a complex and unfortunately dark history, so it is important to take the opportunity to visit the Ojai Valley Museum of History and Art. After learning the history of this impactful region, visit the jaw-droppingly stunning Ojai Olive Oil, Ojai Vinyard, Rose Valley Falls Trails and much more!

Mainly due to tourism and flocks of visitors leaving the city and inland areas to escape to the cooler Pacific Coast to enjoy the beaches, scenery, and relaxation a small town has to offer. Even almost 8,000 years back, the indigenous American Tongva tribe regularly visited the shores of what is now Manhattan Beach and had a settlement named Chowigna. To this day, Manhattan Beach is solidified as a popular spot for settlement, and many come to appreciate what the town has to offer, such as features like Sand Dune Park, Hermosa Beach Pier, Polliwog Park, and of course, the beach of the same name, Manhattan Beach. Some activities and attractions here include Roundhouse Aquarium, AdventurePlex, Manhattan Beach Art Centre, and much more.
