Resting on the southwestern shores of Lake Superior, Bayfield offers easy access to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, where you can rent a kayak and go on a self-guided tour past lakeside caves and towering rocky formations, explore historic lighthouses and even take ferry trips to Madeline Island, which is home to the tiny community of La Pointe and the densely forested Big Bay State Park.
