Located in New York Harbour on Liberty Island in New York City, the Statue of Liberty was officially dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue was gifted to the country by France as a way to foster healthy relations between the two countries. One of the most recognizable American landmarks in history with many movies set in New York using the statue as an establishing shot.
