Tiananmen Square is located in the center of Beijing, China, and many tourists will visit this huge attraction annually. The square is one of the largest in the entire world with an area of 440,500 square meters and has great cultural significance in China. Outside of the country, the square is most known for 1989 pro-democracy protests that turned violent and resulted in many deaths and injuries.
