Rugby originated in the early 1800s in England and was first officially played in 1871. Rugby was even included in 1900, 1908, 1920 and 1924 Olympic Games. New Zealand was one of the earliest countries to be exposed to the sport and have since flourished, becoming one of, if not the, best rugby nation on earth.
